Culture Change is the Foundation of Organization Development
Culture change is complex because it requires facilitating a change involving many people’s deeply held beliefs.
We believe culture change is the foundation of organization development focused on growing, adaptive businesses, positioned to successfully achieve their desired outcomes. From our perspective, organizational culture includes all the norms and expectations that drive the way people approach organizational life. This includes expectations of how to achieve success. When the environment of the organization changes, these expectations (even when they previously supported success) may become the derailed.
Culture change is complex because it requires facilitating a change involving many people’s deeply held beliefs. However, we have evidence from our years of organizational interventions and research that what individual leaders do counts more than most people realize. We have seen individual CEO’s set an organizational tone that has led to rapid business decline as well as growing business success. In coaching we explore how an individual leader’s mindset and behaviors are the key to successfully changing a culture
We follow an approach that starts with self assessment of mindset and behaviors and explore how well these are adapted to achieving strategic business goals and objectives. Key skills development includes being able to effectively set context, engage a broad base of people in supporting change, committing to skills development in the leadership to facilitate this and measures of success that include key performance indicators.

Our framework is based on both our own research over more than twenty years and the research of others, who from academic and practitioner backgrounds. While not a quick fix, we have good evidence that strong leadership commitment to following through on the process has resulted in great success.
